In a few days the time has come: the world's best mountain bikers will meet in Lenzerheide for the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in the disciplines Cross-Country Short Track (XCC), Downhill (DHI) and Cross-Country Olympic (XCO). But the Bike Kingdom Games promise much more. The organizers will present attractive side events away from the racing action. Preparations are in full swing.

In the first phase, the logistics centre, tents, and containers will be erected. This will be followed by various wooden buildings, most of which will be erected directly on the site, as well as TV set-up work. During the event week itself, the finishing touches will be put in place: fences will be erected, tents will be set up and the racetracks will be branded. If everything goes according to plan, everything will be ready for the three-day mountain bike festival around the Rothorn valley station by Friday, 8 July 2022.

Kids Area and Steinböckli Cup for the little ones
So that the little ones can already emulate their big idols, there will be a running bike and a skills course in the Kids Area. Practise your balance and technique or just cruise around, the Kids Area is sure to please the youngest visitors. In the Steinböckli Cup, the children compete directly against each other and ride on running wheels or small bikes in a small circuit for the best place. The two Kids Events will take place over the entire event weekend.

For children and young adults aged 7 to 15, there will be an additional highlight on Sunday: a ride with Olympic and world champion Jenny Rissveds and Team 31. Team 31 is passionately committed to Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which states the right of the child to rest and leisure, to play and to active recreation appropriate to his or her age. The ride aims to inspire children and young adults and their families to adopt an active lifestyle and experience nature.

«Send It Jump Show» on Friday evening
Directly after the cross-country short-track races, five international pros will show what can be done with mountain bikes in the air. On a ramp and landing bag, the riders will show that mountain bikes provide excitement and spectacle, not only with the tyres on the ground.

«Whip Off» on Saturday
Similar to the «Send It Jump Show» on Friday evening, the «Whip Off» on Saturday is also about showing off the best tricks in the air - only here, not only professionals are invited, but registration is open to all the brave ones who want to register in advance or directly on site. A jury consisting of renowned names in the mountain bike scene - Emilie Siegenthaler, Tarek Rasouli and Claudio Caluori - will choose the «Best Trick», «Best Whip» and «Fans Favourite». After the qualification, the best 20 riders - the five professionals of the «Send It Jump Show» and 15 amateurs from the qualification - will compete against each other. A spectacle that some of you may still remember from the 2018 World Championships in Lenzerheide and which creates a great atmosphere.

Concerts and parties
Kalles Kaviar (Friday), Pablo Infernal (Saturday) and Okto Vulgaris (Saturday) are the names of the three bands that will set the mood in the evening, get hips swinging and heads bobbing. «DJ OK» will also accompany the party events surrounding this year's Bike Kingdom Games. The detailed programme and tickets are available online at bikekingdomgames.ch.
